How to prepare for a camping trip?

No ideas for a holiday getaway? A trip out of town to nature is always a great solution! During the summer, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and go somewhere quiet, such as the woods. How to prepare for a camping trip? What should you not forget during your holiday?

Going camping - tent and other overnight things

Not everyone has access to a caravan, and staying overnight in a regular car is a bad idea. A camping trip is therefore inextricably linked to spending the night in a tent. First of all, you need to adjust the size of the tent to the number of people you want to accommodate. It is also worth getting equipment with a durable flysheet, which will prevent the interior from getting wet during poor weather conditions. A mosquito net will keep out uninvited guests in the form of mosquitoes, flies and other insects. Before departure, it is important to check the condition of the tent, including its airtightness, components and cleanliness. It is a good idea to put up the tent a few days before departure to air it out after a long period of disuse.

Before you go camping, it's worth preparing other essential accessories to ensure a comfortable night in the tent. These include:

  • cushion
  • a sleeping bag, the thickness of which should be adapted to the season
  • a sleeping pad, which will serve as an initial thermal insulation layer
  • an inflatable mattress for a soft base for the body during sleep

In addition, do not forget to take enough clothes with you. Clothes should be selected according to the weather conditions, especially for cold nights.

Going camping - kitchen accessories

Going on a camping trip for several days requires adequate preparation in terms of catering and items to prepare meals. Instead of disposable accessories, it is worth choosing reusable tourist items. A tourist cooker for heating food and water for hot drinks is a must. Remember that camping conditions are very limited, so it is better to rely on simple and filling meals. As a form of sweet dessert, you can choose Olimp Protein Bar protein bars or Olimp Protein Snack protein snacks. Their handy size and healthy ingredients make them worth throwing in your backpack.

Health and hygiene

It is important to take proper care of your health during a trip. Your first-aid kit should contain basic pharmaceuticals in the form of painkillers and other necessary medicines (e.g. allergy relief, antiemetics). It is also a good idea to include products to protect against ticks and mosquitoes, as well as sunscreen if the sun is strong.

You will also need toiletries and accessories to keep yourself clean. So it's a good idea to pack toilet paper, disinfectant gel, a quick-drying towel and multi-purpose wet wipes.
