What could be the cause of the bad look of the skin?

The starting point for improving the look of the skin is to find the suspected cause of the problem. Although it may seem that in most cases the cause is improper care and poorly chosen cosmetics, in reality, the problem can develop on a number of other levels. One of them is stress, which leads to the weakening of natural immunity and increased susceptibility to various infections caused by microorganisms. Moreover, high levels of stress are inextricably linked to free radicals. These in turn intensify the body's ageing processes, including skin ageing.

 

The next point is, of course, nutrition. The saying that you are what you eat is perfectly reflected in our appearance. Processed foodstuffs (i.e. those rich in preservatives, unhealthy fats, salt and sugar) have a negative impact on the correct functioning of the metabolism, which can result in many unaesthetic consequences such as pimples. Healthy products (e.g. eggs, dairy products, nuts, soya), which extremely often cause allergic reactions, are another issue. People with allergies may often have to deal with the problem of rashes or discolourations that appear within a short time after eating a particular food item. It will come as no surprise that we end up mentioning alcohol and other drugs - their effect on the look of the skin is undeniably negative.

 

Problems with abnormal skin condition are also a common result of hormonal irregularities. Although the menstrual cycle and its associated fluctuations come to mind first, in reality, there are a number of other reasons that lead to abnormalities in the hormonal balance, such as poor sleep, poor nutrition, metabolic diseases or the use of oral contraceptives.

What are the ways to improve the look of your skin

There are a number of great ways to improve the appearance of your skin that are available to everyone and are not difficult. Here are some effective methods to take care of your body and get it back in shape!

  1. Follow basic hygiene rules - don't dry your face with a towel, change your pillowcase often, disinfect your smartphone regularly, only wash your face after rinsing your hair
  2. Ensure a healthy and balanced diet - avoid processed foods and drugs, get nutrients with valuable effects on the skin and immunity (e.g. collagen, hyaluronic acid, biotin, horsetail, vitamins A, C, B6 and E)
  3. Pay attention to the cosmetics and makeup accessories you use - avoid products that contain large amounts of chemical ingredients, remove makeup thoroughly, wash makeup brushes frequently and use wooden spatulas for products in jars
  4. Maintain optimal hydration levels and avoid excessive thirst
